Krug Grande Cuvée
The history
The founder of the Krug champagne house always had a dream. He wanted to make it big in the champagne business. From an early age, Johann-Josef Krug learned the winemaking trade in his home town, the Moselle region. He eventually moved to Paris to realize his dream. He succeeded in doing so by founding the champagne house, which still produces high-quality champagne every year.
Krug Grande Cuvée
Every year, a new version of the Grande Cuvée is created at the Krug champagne house. Each of these editions is unique and surprises with its very own special taste. But all of the editions have one thing in common - it is almost impossible to produce more quality champagne than these bottles contain. The champagnes consist of a blend of over 120 wines from over 10 different vintages. The fine and elegant champagnes for which Krug is known are created from this blend and then aged for 6 years.
Taste
The unique taste of this year's Krug Grand Cuvée begins with a floral freshness. This is followed by the flavors of juicy autumn fruits. Finally, the spicy aromas of almonds and a slight Christmas aroma round off the overall taste experience. On the nose, the Grand Cuvée is reminiscent of toasted bread, a hint of nougat and candied fruit. The long finish of the champagne crowns this unique taste experience.
