This gin is still an insiders' tip for the most part: Ferdinand's Saar Dry Gin. It comes from the German state of Rhineland-Palatine, the area of the river Saar to be more exact, which gives this exciting juniper schnapps its name. Ferdinand's Saar Dry Gin tastes of juniper, lemon thyme and rose hip among others and is enriched with a distinct splash of VDP Schiefer Riesling, a local white wine. In 2015 the gin was awarded with a double gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. After a recommendation coming from the manufacturers themselves, we decided to pair this exceptional gin with a soft drink of the same special calibre, Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water. The tonic's aromas of rosemary, thyme and lemon oil prove to be the perfect companion to Ferdinand's Saar Dry Gin!
