Rye whiskey is here to stay! This woody, rich whiskey has notes of freshly baked bread, caramel, and brown sugar, overlaid across a solid base of rye grain. It has been aged for at least four years, to give it oaky notes and to help develop complex flavours. It is "Bottled in bond" which means that it comes from just one distiller, at one distillery, from a single year, and that it is bottled at 100 proof.
Rittenhouse have been making whiskey in their Kentucky distillery since 1934, and their process is currently overseen by master distillers Parker Beam and Craig Beam. The brand is produced by the fan-favourite Heaven Hill company, who are renowned for their specialty American whiskeys. Rittenhouse have won accolades for their spirits, including this rye being named "North American Whiskey of the Year" at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2006.
