Deanston Virgin Oak
Deanston Virgin Oak is a single malt Scotch from the Scottish Highlands. The whisky is bottled with an alcohol content of 46.3% vol. Despite this intensity, the Single Malt remains very pleasant and silky all along the line. Deanston Virgin Oak Scotch Whisky does not contain any colourings. The colour of the single malt is obtained entirely in the traditional way - through production and storage.
Aging
For the production several young whiskies are combined. The age at which Deanston Virgin Oak is labelled is three years.
The whisky is stored in freshly toasted American oak barrels. During storage, the whisky matures and acquires its soft golden colour.
Nosing
Sweetness and spice harmonise and the whisky acquires a light floral character. Deanston Virgin Oak is a strong and full-bodied Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Taste
On the palate the Deanston Virgin Oak comes along with many aromas. The spice and sweetness are dominant. Candied fruits and vanilla are present too but play a slightly subordinate role compared to the sweet, spicy aroma. In contrast to the floral taste are malt and a hint of nutmeg. Together with nuances of honey they offer a good balance. Deanston Virgin Oak is a multi-faceted, multi-layered whisky and a welcome drink for those who want a soft, young and fresh whisky.
Finish
The sweetness and spice does not stop at the finish either. On the palate the sweetness is dominant, on the tongue the spice dominates. Due to the floral notes in the finish, Deanston Virgin Oak brings variety again and again and thus provides an unusual, long and complex finish.
