Brugal 1888 Rum is an excellent drop from the Dominican Republic. It is made from different types of rum and reveals a versatile and soft character. The premium rum can be served both pure and in long drinks.
Production
The varieties used for Brugal 1888 rum are double distilled. It matures for up to 14 years. It is first stored in American bourbon barrels before spending a few more years in sherry barrels. An approach that gives the premium rum a special touch.

Aroma and taste
However, it depends on the taste, and this is were the class of the rum shows up. Brugal 1888 has a fantastic Caribbean flair that is already evident in the nose. Poured into the glass, an exotic combination of scents immediately emerges. Fruits, caramel, some vanilla and slightly nutty chocolate notes already indicate the exquisite taste.
On the tongue, the noble rum then presents itself as exciting as it is mild. The aromas of this great composition are rather reserved. Once again, fruits (including banana and orange), vanilla and caramel are perceptible. But also the storage is noticeable in taste, so that besides dried fruits also nuances of sherry and oak wood are recognizable. In the long finish, it first reveals spicy, dry and woody notes, before ending elegantly chocolatey.
Serving suggestions
This rum can be enjoyed pure in glass or mixed in cocktails. It is usually served at room temperature. But if you want to discover a little more of the fantastic variety of flavours, you can heat a glass to 24 to 26 °C, pour Brugal 1888 Rum in and enjoy it.
