After Shock Red is the line's cinnamon variant which was introduced to the world by Jim Beam in order to add an appropriate party drink to their catalogue. An idea that worked out very well for the company. Especially in the UK the drink enjoys great popularity. Here, the rumour evolved that the beverage crystallizes in the drinker's stomach upon consumption and does not dissolve before the next day's morning - causing another wave of alcohol to enter the blood stream. This theory is not real, though.
However, it is a fact that After Shock Red knows how to convince the consumer with its bedazzling cinnamon aroma. The cinnamon flavour accompanies the general aroma of the drink as well as its finish, which will leave a sweet but subtle taste on your tongue. Due to its bright red colour the liqueur is perfectly suitable for being enjoyed as a stand-alone shot as well as for spicing up cocktails in terms of colour and taste. In the Christmas season it also makes for a great alternative to hot wine punch once heated up.
