In 1998, Martin Miller's Gin was developed by the British bon viveur Martin Miller and two of his friends who set out to create the first Super Premium Gin. While many gin brands advertise their exotic, often secret ingredients, Martin Miller concentrates on a rather classic mix of botanicals: Juniper, coriander, angelica, liquorice root, cassia bark, florentine iris and a small proportion of lime peel are included in the first distillation step. Then, bitter orange and lemon peel and, again, lime peel are included in a second step, before a touch of cucumber is added to the mix. Finally, the gin is blended to strength with purest glacial water from Iceland.

In response to mixologists requesting a higher proof version of the gin, the "Westbourne Strength" variant was developed in 2003. Bottled at 45.2% ABV, juniper is dominant, and the mouth-feel is richer and spicier, while boasting the same soft and gentle finish as the original. With its extra-punch, Martin Miller's "Westbourne Strength" Dry Gin is perfect for more complex cocktails.

In 2015, the "Westbourne Strength" was awarded with a silver medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
