Rudh na Magach

One of the most spectacular holiday cottages in the Highlands!

Located directly on the shores of Loch Laggan, Rudh na Magach is a complete destination, specifically designed to entertain Guests both indoors and out.

The house and extensive grounds include:

• A fully glazed Sun Porch with seating that allows you to take in the amazing views whatever the weather.
• Four cosy bedrooms that sleep 8 people in total.
• Three bathrooms with baths and showers
• A beautiful dining room with log burner and a lounge / TV room with lots of books for the quieter evenings.
• A fully equipped kitchen with gas range, utility areas and dishwasher - with a view from the sink that is breath-taking!
• Above the kitchen, accessed by a tiny staircase is a fully contained Minstrels Gallery with bean bags for the kids (and lazy grown-ups) to chill out in.

The house really comes into its own with its outdoor buildings and facilities:

• Adjacent to the main cottage is a well-appointed Games House with Pool Table, Air Hockey and Table Football.
• Here there is an additional TV, full internet access and a Bluetooth sound system to keep all ages entertained at any time of year, whatever the weather – it even has its own log burner for year-round use.
• Across the lawns, past our beautiful Osprey sculpture (the real thing is often visible fishing in the loch) you get straight down to the waters edge, where you can fish, swim and paddle at any time.
• Tucked into the shoreline is the Old Boat Shed – now an all-weather, boat themed BBQ house. There is very comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, complete with our indulgent “Egg Chair” for swinging in the summer breeze whilst watching the flames from the huge fire bowl. Plenty of lighting and a Bluetooth sound system means that you can enjoy the sunsets over the embers of your fire at any hour.
• Next to this for the small (and big) kids among you, is the large play fort with underground cave den – not something available at your average holiday cottage.

Peace and mindfulness is also on the agenda with:

• A Stone Circle – sit and enjoy the landscape before you and restore your inner calm.
• A gentle stream trickles down into the loch at the edge of the lawns

The whole site is accessed via coded security gates and there is a secure store so feel free to bring paddleboards, canoes, inflatables and wetsuits and enjoy the loch to your hearts content with as much water fun, wild swimming and fishing as you want literally just outside the front door.

Finally, you can be comforted in the knowledge that this unique holiday destination is available with a low a carbon footprint: The house is not connected to the electricity grid, but has all its energy needs supplied by a solar panels on the lochside and small wind turbine on the edge of the lawn. There is a backup generator in case the sun doesn’t shine and the wind doesn’t blow – so you wont be left in the dark!

Please note : The house is close to, but faces away from, the road, which can be heard in the garden, but the lochside is far enough away that it isn’t an issue for most. The house itself is very well insulated without noise. Due to the very extensive grounds and variable water levels, it is not possible to securely fence, so dogs and small children need to be kept an eye on due to the water and road – although the boundary with the road is fenced.

There is a small secure area next to the house designed so that dogs can be safely contained if necessary.
