Simple process

Simple process, excellent features on standard policy, addons (Breakdown including at home, no excess) very cheap and competitive. Website is laid out and efficient. Took me 5 mins to get policy up and running. Came in at 2nd cheapest quote, but went with Aviva as well known and high ratings. Highly recommend. :)

The premium was a very competitive one…

The premium was a very competitive one but - as I usually say in these circumstances - An insurer can be very quick to take your money and rather slower to pay out on a claim. While I hope that I never have to find out how good Aviva are by having to make a claim, insurers should be judged on these criteria.

Good honest transparency

I have been an Aviva customer for over a decade with a personal private pension . I took out car insurance with them 4 years ago when I purchased a nearly new car . The level of service I have received for my car insurance over the 4 years has been exemplary and I feel every other insurance company can learn a lot from Aviva. Each year , my renewal price has gone down , not up . This is what rewarding , good safe loyal customers should be . No messing around . No silly extortionate renewal prices you get with other companies. Just good honest transparency.

It really does pay to shop around!

Aviva provided a very reasonable quote for car renewal, so much so, I left my previous provider of six years.

The online process was easy to follow and understand.

I find doing business on the internet…

I find doing business on the internet challenging but the Aviva help system was good. I would prefer the option of speaking to a human being to resolve problems but a helpline phone number is not easy to find

Good price and easy online application

Got a really good quote including extras which some other companies were charging more for. The online application was straight forward without any hidden tricks to get more money out of you.

The shocking price of car insurance !!

I got a car insurance renewal from the company I was with last year with an increase of £180 !! This was on a 2-year old car doing under 4000 miles a year. I had to go on a comparison site to get the cost down and Aviva was the best fit for me. It was easy to fill in all the required details and pay the deposit. I got a confirmation e-mail straight away so I'm pleased I used Aviva for my car insurance.

details of policy terms were clearly…

details of policy terms were clearly set out and easy to comprehend. The price was very competitive.
Previous experience of being insured with Aviva also gave me real assurance.

why did it take me nearly 4 hours to get a home insurance policy

why did it take me nearly 4 hours on the internet, to get a home policy and pay for it....i even had Avivas chat line open to discuss it, and he didnt know why there was a problem. They made me change my password which i had used previously with them, then they sent me 4 notifications of a pass number which all failed to connect me. Eventually i started right at the beginning again and finally sorted and paid for policy!!!!

Aviva Healthcare Policy

Aviva Healthcare are a nightmare to deal with over the phone. If you are fortunate enough to get past the so-called AI Automated assistant you are held in a long queue (45+ minutes at off-peak times) - just up ask a question about your policy.

The online chat takes you through a series of questions and then tells you that the only way to find if you are covered is to start a claim. So you go back to the phone lines to make a claim and are put into a different queue,

Aviva is becoming too big …

Aviva is becoming too big and apparently can't cope with their customers requests for pensions. I made a request to draw my pension was given a 17 working days. Not heard anything, on the 14th working day I wrote an email to the person who first confirmed receiving my documents and she never replied, I called on the 16th day and the person was dismissive, the 17th working day came and went with no news. If you give a timeframe that's the timeframe not after. I then received a excuse of an email saying that they've had an increase in people trying to access their money. Not my problem really, my problem is you gave me a timeframe and I was working on that timeframe. You are now costing me money. I will look into moving my pension from Aviva.

I have made an internal complaint HLX/00668887. You can look at that.

Happy to choose Aviva

Ive been with Aviva before , i knew how they worked. The proccess was easy, we went online to fill in all the relevant information, fairly quick responses. So we were happy to renew our polices.

Quick & simple web site

Quick & simple web site, lots of data pre-loaded from Confused.com, loads of extras offered that I didn’t want … but you can’t criticise them for trying, not the lowest price but I thought it was the best value on balance from a quality provider. Here’s hoping that I have another trouble free year of motoring and don’t have to claim ;)

This company is totally unprofessional

This company is totally unprofessional. Initially, they sent a quote with a lower price, but then, without any notice, they amended it and sent a new quote with a much higher price. When I contacted customer service, their response was completely unprofessional—they claimed they had lost the quote. Even after I sent a screenshot of my email, they didn't address the issue properly. If they can't handle my documents, how can I trust them to take care of me and my family in a difficult time? Why should I waste my money on their policy if they can't keep my documents secure? The response from customer service was totally pathetic. I can't believe such irresponsible behavior from them.

Quick to take your money

Quick to take your money, not so quick to resolve a claim that wasn't even my fault against a third party who has admitted liability. Yes, the premiums are competitively priced, but weigh that up should you need to make an actual claim.

I chose to get my Mercedes Benz repair done via an authorised MB body shop, and Aviva wanted me to use some dodgy cowboy from Luton who told me that if they quote and I decide not to use them, they will charge me 250 pounds just for the privilege. There is no way I'm letting anyone outside of MB touch my Mercedes or who use dodgy practices.

Not only has Aviva lost me as a car insurance customer, but today, I have cancelled my life insurance policy and started steps to move my pension to my other provider. They are trying to save a few quid but ultimatley they will lose £ 100,000's. How's that for short-sightedness?

My advice: Avoid. There are way better insurers who actually look after their customers when they are involved in an accident that wasn't their fault. As for me, sure, I'll have to pay for the repair upfront, but Aviva will pay the costs eventually, plus my uninsured losses + my legal and court costs. Add in the other ancillary losses and it's significant for them. Inconvenient for me.
