Quick to take your money
Quick to take your money, not so quick to resolve a claim that wasn't even my fault against a third party who has admitted liability. Yes, the premiums are competitively priced, but weigh that up should you need to make an actual claim.
I chose to get my Mercedes Benz repair done via an authorised MB body shop, and Aviva wanted me to use some dodgy cowboy from Luton who told me that if they quote and I decide not to use them, they will charge me 250 pounds just for the privilege. There is no way I'm letting anyone outside of MB touch my Mercedes or who use dodgy practices.
Not only has Aviva lost me as a car insurance customer, but today, I have cancelled my life insurance policy and started steps to move my pension to my other provider. They are trying to save a few quid but ultimatley they will lose £ 100,000's. How's that for short-sightedness?
My advice: Avoid. There are way better insurers who actually look after their customers when they are involved in an accident that wasn't their fault. As for me, sure, I'll have to pay for the repair upfront, but Aviva will pay the costs eventually, plus my uninsured losses + my legal and court costs. Add in the other ancillary losses and it's significant for them. Inconvenient for me.
