Yancheng (盐城 Yánchéng) is a prefecture-level city on the east coast of Jiangsu Province.

[edit]Yancheng, whose name literally means "Salt City", was founded in 119 BC named after the salt harvest fields that surround the city.

[edit]1 Yancheng Station (盐城站). You can take a train directly to the center of Yancheng City. There are trains departing from Shanghai and Hangzhou to reach Yancheng.

The coast of Yancheng Prefecture is a home to migratory birds, an as such has been listed as a natural world heritage site under the name Migratory Bird Sanctuaries along the Coast of Yellow Sea-Bohai Gulf of China.
