Fails WP:GNG with lack of significant coverage in multiple, independent sources. The biggest issue is that it fails the guideline WP:WHYN, namely that multiple sources are needed "so that we can write a reasonably balanced article that complies with Wikipedia:Neutral point of view". Otherwise, editors will just cherry-pick facts from routine coverage in recaps of individual games or series, as opposed to independent sources that look at the rivalry as a whole. Moreover, routine coverage liberally uses the term rivalry to manufacture hype. There could be a personal rivalry with LeBron James and Boston, but that includes his time with Miami as well.[1] Recent coverage might try to generate animosity because of Kyrie Irving's trade from Cleveland to Boston. —Bagumba (talk) 11:26, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

- Delete per nomination. There is no rivalry between these teams and it sounds like WP:RECENTISM. – Sabbatino (talk) 12:42, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. Quick google searches of "Cavaliers Celtics rivalry" and "Celtics Cavaliers rivalry show very little beyond the current season (specifically the recent conference finals and the Kyrie Irving trade). The article itself is merely a list of 250 scores and a one-sentence description of each playoff meeting. It is poorly sourced, and the few sources that are there only confirm the results of the games and do nothing to describe these teams as "rivals." Frank AnchorTalk 13:21, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

- Delete. The two teams haven't been good in the same season until this year as far as I can remember. Notable rivalries generally need longstanding powerhouses. This one isn't an exception. Clarityfiend (talk) 07:13, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
- Comment The Celtics (Led by Pierce, Garnett and Allen) knocked the LeBron-led Cavs out of the playoffs in 2008 and 2010. Game five of the 2010 series was the infamous LeBron-Quit-on-the-Cavs game. That said, it was more of a LeBron-Celtics rivalry Dammit_steve (talk) 14:56, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
