Removed PROD

Hiya! I removed the PROD for a few articles that you'd tagged in someone's userspace. The reason is because PROD can't be used in the userspace. The best way to go about it would be WP:MfD, I think. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 07:20, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[]

References

Salam Ali. I do not have what would be considered an authoritative reference for Kabardin and Ingush in Iraq, but I know this information to be correct and wouldn't have included it otherwise.

If you look at this website for North Caucasian Iraqis, you'll see the Ingush flag is included. There will certainly be references in this website, but I cannot read Arabic so I am unable to use them.

You are aware that not every particle of information must have a reference, Ali? I have removed Laks and Ubykh because I do not have an authoritative reference (I'm limited to English), even though I know that information to be correct. Irānshahr (talk) 20:34, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[]

Hamshenis

Hi Ali-al-Bakuvi, not sure how this works, but about the Hamsheni article I got the info from a bunch of different sources and estimations. I read on a website that I do not recall that there are about 500,000-700,000 Hamshenis worldwide. I read that about 43,000 live in the Rize Province of Turkey, and those ones speak Turkish and are Sunni Muslims, there are another 30,000 in the Artvin Province of Turkey, and those ones speak the Hamsheni dialect of Armenian and are Sunni Muslims. In 1944 93,000 Laz, Artvin Hamshenis, Meskhetian Turks, Kurds, and Karapapaks who lived on the Georgian side of the border were deported from the Turkish-Georgian border region to Central Asia in fear that they might collaborate with their Muslim brethren on the other side of the border. I read that today about 25,000 Armenians live in Kazakhstan, more than half of them are Hamshenis. Then according to the Kyrgyz Census there were 1,400 Armenians in Kyrgyzstan in 1999 and they said once more that roughly half were Hamshenis. Then I read another article about Hamshenis moving to the Republic of Armenia, and that their number stands at about 10,000 and that they have mostly integrated into Armenian society. In 1870 when the Circassians moved to Turkey, the Christian Hamsheni moved to Circassia. According to the Abkhazian Census there were about 42,000 Armenians in Abkhazia. According to the Russian Census there were about 554,000 Armenians in Southern Russia, a great majority of which are Hamsheni according to Russian sources. So I hope this helps you, I can't really find the sources for most of these facts, but I remember reading them and wrote down the important facts regarding their population, language, religion. I forgot to say that the Hamshenis in Turkey and Central Asia (89,000) are Sunni Hanafi Muslim, while those who live in Circassia (southern Russia and Abkhazia/606,000) are Armenian Apostolic Christians. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.142.58.108 (talk) 03:28, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[]

    • Hello,

The problem is that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and we need references for such data. As you can see in the articles dedicated to other people usually the numbers are sourced and sometimes not only once. Besides, there is conflict with number shown in the article, which is sourced by Russian official census data. Maybe you should see and find some info in "The Hemshin" book edited by Hovann H. Simonian. Bests, Ali-al-Bakuvi (talk) 19:53, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[]

Regarding your comment ("no consensus needed"), there is no such thing as a situation where no consensus is needed on Wikipedia. There are policies which cannot be violated, which may seem like there is no consensus needed, but actually those policies reflect the consensus of the community.

Your continued revert of other people's edits on Kazakhs without a consensus to do so will not likely have a good result. I'm not saying you're right or wrong...but continuing to revert edits will make you automatically wrong - even if the point you're trying to make is correct. The best thing to do is to discuss at Talk:Kazakhs and...achieve WP:CONSENSUS.  Frank  |  talk  02:15, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[]

Azerbaijani help needed

Hello Ali-al-Bakuvi, I'm contacting you because we need some Azerbaijani translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on az.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Azerbaijani Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 19:51, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[]

    • Hello,

of course i'll do my best. I am not such an experienced WikiEditor. But I can help with the translation. Ali-al-Bakuvi (talk) 20:48, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[]

Ali, I'm glad to have your help. To start translating, you can go to one of the pages listed at Translation Central - for instance the VisualEditor User Guide. Then click "translate this page" from the top, select your language, and the TranslationExtension will help you from there. Let me know if you have any difficulties or questions. Thanks! Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Azerbaijani Legion may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

If you are Azeri from Iran, then write about the "relationship" with the persians in a separate article, and go on to be a slave of the persians. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Az-507 (talkcontribs) 12:39, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[]

I am an OBJECTIVE AZERBAIJANI editor from BAKU living in EUROPE. But I don't think who am I, somehow effect or change the facts. You have got the first warning according to WP:NPA and will reported for a block for the second one. Bests, Ali-al-Bakuvi (talk) 12:57, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[]

Sources about Atropates

Although all sources say the same about his origins, i will list one of them to you:

This became evident when Alexander appointed as satrap of the important province of Media the Persian Atropates, who had held the same office under Darius. - Hellenstic Civilization - Francois Chamoux.

I thought that you said the only info given in the sources is about his country not ethnicity? maybe actually taking a look on the sources would be good? --Mossadegh-e Mihan-dust (talk) 19:30, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[]

Hmmm... Yes, I missed this source, sorry. But the other sources say other things, you should agree: "A Persian governor", "one of the generals in the Persian army", doesn't say anything about his ethnicity, but rather about citizenship. But yes I admit that I wasn't right.

P.S. I didn't like sentence Report me to an admin like you did Az-507 if you want to, as the only reason that I reported him was personal attacks, nationalist POV (even, if he is from my nation and doing that in favor of my nation) and unwillingness of any discussion.
Bests,

International Recognition of Crimea

In response to your post on the Talk Page of "Crimean Tatars," I think the article should strive to state the reality, rather than what the international community feels is ideal. The reality is that Russia is administering Crimea. astrohoundy (talk) 11:21, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[]

Gubarev

thanks for putting the sourced info back, seems quite a few people are trying to censor it as "allegations" (even though there are photos of him?). Looks like your attempt was in vain though, already rv'd. --Львівське (говорити) 21:07, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[]

Siberian Tatars

Hello there

Hello once again, since i saw that you thanked me on my edit about al-Ma'mun on Iranian peoples, then i thought that you could help me a bit here. Raayen still continues his nationalistic edits and calls an Abbasid caliph for an Iranian! [1] That's it just like calling the Queen of Britain a German. --Mossadegh-e Mihan-dust (talk) 19:56, 8 May 2014 (UTC)[]

I must say that those words he used in the Azerbaijani people talk page was truly rude and pretty much a ad hominid attack. If i were you i would have reported him. --Mossadegh-e Mihan-dust (talk) 10:30, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[]

Despite the fact that our points-of-view and approaches to the issues are quite different with him, sometimes his edits help to improve the articles, by forcing us to search and add better references. But I am going to notify him and next time I will carry the case to the Administrators' noticeboard. Bests, Ali-al-Bakuvi (talk) 11:56, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[]

Thank You

Salaam-un Aleikum Ali,

I wanted to thank you for thanking me for the edit on the Sabiha Gokcen page. Unfortunately, Armenians keep reverting these edits. They are insistent that the page say "Sabiha Gokcen's origins are disputed" simply because an Armenian newspaper published an article that it was so, conveniently AFTER Gokcen had died and could not deny the claims. In her own autobiography and in every interview she's given, she has always stated that she is Turkish. Her family has denied the allegations of the Armenian newspaper, and not a single academic publication on the internet or in print says that "her origins are in doubt". Also, every other language version of Wikipedia is also clear, there is no "her origins are in doubt". But the Armenians keep forcing this issue, and they also have the Wikipedia editors on their side. Meaning the Turkish people trying to clear the Gokcen page of lies might even be banned soon. 9/11 also has claims that it was done by the government, tell me, does the Wikipedia page start off by saying "the origins of 9/11 are doubted"? Of course not. Anyways, I just wanted to give you a heads up and ask your help on this issue in the Gokcen page. I also tried sending a Wikipedia "dispute resolve" to Wikipedia but it made an error and wouldn't send... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sekarca (talkcontribs) 21:05, 8 May 2014 (UTC)[]

Wa alaikum assalam,
The problem is that I am not really informed about the case, and I saw another Turkish editor who was involved in the dispute and reverted your edits, that's why I stopped my involvement in the case. Maybe you should discuss with him as a person who is more informed than me. I try to be really NPOV editor and edit only in cases where I have knowledge about the issue. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Azerbaijanis in Belarus, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Azerbaijani (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
