Hello, LadyofShalott,
This article was just moved to Draft space so I'm not sure why you recreated it. It would have been better to move the article from Draft space back to main space and work on it. Maybe you can Merge the two articles. I review the Draftification list each night and was just surprised to see an admin do this. It's typically done by new editors. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:49, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Liz, something strange has occurred. I see from the article history that it does look like I recreated that article, but I assure you I did not. I was doing some work in CAT:UNCAT where I found that linked. The only thing I did was to add categories. If you want to redraftify, I have no objections. That article was not even on my radar any longer. Why it looks like I created it, I can not explain! LadyofShalott 16:09, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
OK, upon further looking at the logs, I think it was a weird edit conflict-type situation. The draftification and my adding a category happened in the same minute and apparently the system didn't know how to handle that. Hey Mandarax and other more tech-oriented folks, can you say any more? LadyofShalott 16:14, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
- That looks like what happened: it was moved from article to draft without leaving a redirect, and half a minute later when you saved your changes to an article which at that point no longer existed, it appeared that you created it. The system should definitely have a better way of dealing with such situations. Maybe you should bring it up at WP:Village pump (technical). MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 17:40, 29 November 2023 (UTC)

Removing Template
Hello LadyofShalott! What procedure should I follow to remove that copyedit template on Valmiki Samhita article. As I am working on another article also, currently it is in draft, I will check that mistake in my next article too if I am committing that. Autobotai (talk) 22:33, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
Administrators' newsletter – December 2023
News and updates for administrators from the past month (November 2023).
- Following a talk page discussion, the Administrators' accountability policy has been updated to note that while it is considered best practice for administrators to have notifications (pings) enabled, this is not mandatory. Administrators who do not use notifications are now strongly encouraged to indicate this on their user page.
- Following a motion, the Extended Confirmed Restriction has been amended, removing the allowance for non-extended-confirmed editors to post constructive comments on the "Talk:" namespace. Now, non-extended-confirmed editors may use the "Talk:" namespace solely to make edit requests related to articles within the topic area, provided that their actions are not disruptive.
- The Arbitration Committee has announced a call for Checkusers and Oversighters, stating that it will currently be accepting applications for CheckUser and/or Oversight permissions at any point in the year.
- Eligible users are invited to vote on candidates for the Arbitration Committee until 23:59 December 11, 2023 (UTC). Candidate statements can be seen here.
