"H.A.T.E.U."
Song

"H.A.T.E.U." (short for "Having a Typical Emotional Upset") is a song performed by American R&B singer Mariah Carey, from her 12th studio album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel (2009). The song, produced and written by Carey, The-Dream and Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, was released to US radio on November 2, 2009 and November 3, 2009 as the third single from the album.[4]

Remix Version

The remixed version of this song, "The So So Def Remix", will be released on the remix edition of Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. This is also the official remix for the single. It features Atlanta-based rappers Big Boi, Gucci Mane (whith who also worked in the remix of Obsessed and film a music video for it), and OJ Da Juiceman.[5] The remix was produced by Jermaine Dupri and provided background vocals on the remix.

Music Video

The music video was shot November 5th and 6th 2009, and was directed by Brett Ratner who previously directed music videos for "Obsessed", "Touch My Body", and "We Belong Together". The video was shot on Malibu Beach in California and in New York. [7] That is the same location where she did the video for her song "Love Takes Time".
