ALA-LC romanization

ALA-LC is a set of standards for romanization, or the representation of text in other writing systems using the Latin script. The initials stand for American Library Association - Library of Congress.

This system is used to represent bibliographic information by North American libraries and the British Library (for acquisitions since 1975),^[1] and in publications throughout the English-speaking world.

ALA-LC for Arabic (first published 1991), from the American Library Association and the Library of Congress. [1] ALA-LC is the standard romanization of Arabic used in Wikipedia.^[2]
