There is freedom of panorama in USA for architecture, but not for other kind of art. The logo is copyrighted. Taivo (talk) 15:10, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[]

  • @Taivo: Signage such as this is considered to be a element of architecture not a form of art. A sign for a clearly visibly public building is protected as architecture and FOP. I will say I would certainly second guess if I wanted to upload this today. That logo is rather large and certainly isn’t just simple geometric shapes and/or text and is, by itself, also likely protected in some form. All that being said this is a photo of a sign in fall not a close up of that logo. I don’t believe the logo itself turned on an angle and included as an element of a sign would carry copyright protection into a photo such as this. At the moment though I don’t know of a court case backing that position so if PCP wins out I won’t feel bad. Additional opinions would be welcome, and you can tell me if I'm only being protective of my own photo and a general idiot. -- Sixflashphoto (talk) 23:29, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[]
