|I grew up on the westside of Indianapolis. I am a combat veteran who has worked hard as a community servant my entire adult life. As the son of a small business owner I have seen first-hand how poor government decisions affect my family ,friends, and community. I believe government works best when hardworking people are elected to serve their community, instead of individuals serving their own ambitions. As your next State Senator, I pledge to Listen Serve and Unite to fight for our community.
- Invest in Our Future - Raise pay for teachers, reform educational policy and testing. We must ensure that one's zip code does not determine their quality of education
- Create Good Jobs - We must support small business by cutting through red tape, protect all Hoosiers' right to organize without fear of losing their living, and end tax breaks for corporations that don't pay a living wage and don't value our community.
- Legalize Medical Cannabis - Opioid overdose rates are going up and our criminal justice system wastes critical resources jailing nonviolent drug offenders. Medical Cannabis will help our vets with chronic pain, boost our economy and save tax dollars
I am passionate about public policy because I have seen how bad policy can literally cost lives not just on a foreign battlefield but here at home as well. As your State Senator I will work tirelessly to pinpoint the problems, find the solutions and fight to make government work for all Hoosiers.
While I have had many amazing leaders in my life, I look up to the average Hoosier. The hardworking men and women who are working long hours, raising children and engaging with their community. They are the bedrock of America.
The biggest historical event during my childhood was September 11,2001. I was in 7th grade and watch it unfold on TV. I felt a deep empathy for my fellow Americans and a need to help. After fighting for 6 years in the Global War on Terrorism I again saw how politician's decisions were costing blood and treasure on the ground to little effect.
MY first job was working in my fathers small machine shop. I worked there until I joined the US Army. I watched as government decisions sent thousands of good manufacturing jobs overseas
Indiana's greatest challenge is reaffirming the American Dream. Hoosiers in our district feel left behind. They do not believe America is a meritocracy anymore or that government cares for their interests. Indiana must ensure that our state is set up for Hoosiers to succeed.
