On September 5, 2022, the VTDigger announced that Surprenant was leaving the Vermont Progressive Party and would register as a Democrat. Biography
Heather Surprenant was raised in Randolph, Vermont. Surprenant graduated from Randolph Union High School. She earned a B.A. in international relations and human rights from Roanoke College in 2010 and a B.A. in government from Smith College in 2014. Her career experience includes working at an organic farm in California and managing the organic vegetable operation for Kiss the Cow Farm in Vermont.[2][3]
