|Everyday I work with high school students that are worried about climate change. I've been a high school physics, engineering, and math teacher at Montpelier High School for the past 18 years. I'm passionate about decarbonizing Vermont's economy. In that transition, it matters that we center historically excluded populations and those without economic means, because they are often the hardest hit by the effects of climate change, and they often have the fewest resources to transition away from fossil fuels.
As the Mayor of Montpelier I frequently hear from folks about how Vermont's economic policies are just not working for them. This includes the lack of high quality affordable childcare, the lack of paid family and medical leave, and the lack of affordable housing. As Mayor, I have been working on these issues, and we have been able to make progress in small ways, but we really need the support of the state to make progress on a larger scale.
I have experience crafting policy, I’m a coach, a teacher, a union member, and a mom, and I hope I earn one of your 3 votes for state senate on November 8th.
- We need to make healthy climate choices easy and affordable for Vermonters.
- We need high quality, affordable childcare across Vermont.
- We need better economic policies like paid family, and medical leave, and access to comprehensive, affordable healthcare
My highest priority is decarbonizing Vermont's economy that is affordable and equitable for Vermonters. I'm particularly interested in helping renters, who have no authority of the heating systems in their homes and may be stuck paying high prices for oil and no way to reduce the costs through weatherization. We need to make it easy for landlords to weatherize apartments without increasing rent.

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
