The name is a bit of a misnomer. If your file has an .ac3 track, this tool judges it invalid. It's also set up only for PAL. (It judges a 29.97 frame rate and 480 frame height as wrong.) You can modify the .ini file for NTSC, but it still judges the field order wrong. Every file I threw at MPEG Validator *FAILED* its test. These are files created with the default settings in TMPGEnc. To be fair, this tool does provide some useful information, but its interface is very crude. |
