Motivation
[edit]The Austrian UNESCO Website provides URLs to German and English descriptions of individual intangible cultural heritage in Austria. These URLs have language specific names in German and English and must be maintained both to access the descriptions in both languages (e.g. see described at URL (P973) in Mining culture in Bleiberg (Q113129709)). However this numerical ID allows to construct the URLs for both languages without maintaining them individually (see Url-Formatter). We will use the constructed URLs (https://www.unesco.at/de/index.php?id=180&tx_news_pi1%5Bnews%5D=$1 and https://www.unesco.at/en/index.php?id=180&tx_news_pi1%5Bnews%5D=$1) to access the external descriptions from de:Immaterielles_Kulturerbe_in_Österreich as well as from Commons file & category descriptions (e.g. using template c:template:Intangible Cultural Heritage of Austria in c:Category:Lesachtaler Brotherstellung) in both languages.
Discussion
[edit]- Support This is well-developed intangible cultural heritage ID which will help making information about the elements available online easier. It immediately helps in the display of items in the Wiki Loves Living Heritage project. – Susanna Ånäs (Susannaanas) (talk) 10:35, 16 June 2023 (UTC)
- We probably need to have a P31 type that allows all ICH ids to be queried consistently. – Susanna Ånäs (Susannaanas) (talk) 06:12, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Susannaanas: good idea, but not related to this proposal. We have already Intangible Cultural Heritage (Q84036549), intangible cultural heritage (Q59544), Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (Q110320060), Intangible Cultural Heritage national designation (Q113128961) - can we nominate exactly one of those for instance of (P31)? (And merge some of the others to avoid further confusion). best --Christian Philipp (WMAT) (talk) 11:15, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
