Biden spoke to the General Assembly for the first time since Hamas’ attack on Israel last year and the conflict that has ensued in Gaza, and his final time as president.

The first lady also said both she and the president are "totally at peace" with his decision to drop out of the race.

The informal meetings will take place at his residence — the first time as president he has brought foreign leaders to the state.

The president also announced a series of new efforts to curb gender-based violence.

“No leader should ever associate with someone who spreads this kind of ugliness, this kind of racist poison,” Karine Jean-Pierre said.

The president plans to “leave it all on the field,” one aide said, with visits planned to Republican parts of the country and overseas as early as October.

The attack from Abbott comes as the Trump campaign has sought to tie Harris to chaos surrounding migrants and the U.S. border.

The president told reporters he was "very close" to presenting a final hostage deal this week.  

Biden's and Harris' teams pushed back against claims from GOP Sen. Tom Cotton and former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard that that had been invited alongside Trump.
