We are delighted to announce the grand opening of our latest branch, Crystal Lake! With its strategic location in McHenry and Harvard, this new office will extend our services to a wider community of caregivers, providing them with a more accessible and convenient location. We are immensely grateful for the support and collaboration of the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce, whose presence during our opening event added to the excitement and promise of a prosperous future ahead. Together, we look forward to making a positive impact on the lives of caregivers and those they care for in the Crystal Lake area.

It's a new year and time for new real estate events! Join me the morning of February 14th for the 9th iteration of the UW Commercial Real Estate Symposium, hosted by the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business in partnership with the Runstad Department of Real Estate, University of Washington and the Urban Land Institute. This year's program is "Activating Change: Solutions for Downtown's Comeback." As we’re all aware, Downtown Seattle has faced significant speedbumps to recovery post-Pandemic, but what it largely boils down to is a people problem – underutilization of office has led to weakness in ground-floor retail and an under-activation of the street level in general. The absence of people has generated opportunities for an increase in crime and sidewalk encampments, which further reduce Downtown’s appeal and potential for economic growth. So how do we turn Downtown back into a place where people want to be? In this event we bring together a diverse group of individuals with their fingers on the pulse of Downtown – landlords, tenants, brokers, capital market players, downtown advocacy reps, city officials, and policy experts – to offer some perspective on what can be done in the short- to medium- term to rebuild confidence and vibrancy in the area. As always, the Symposium is free and open to the public. Please share far and wide with your network. Register at the link below. Hope to see you there! https://lnkd.in/gCGy2yTB

Economic development lies at the center of DDD’s mission and vision statement. As part of this year’s #EconDevWeek, we wish to recognize the work and thought behind our organization’s approach to Economic Development. To realize our long-term vision for a thriving city center, DDD prioritizes six areas to focus upon in partnership with the City of New Orleans, State of Louisiana, and other relevant organizations. This week, we will be sharing these six focus areas—and their associated strategies—with you, starting today with #1 and #2. 1) Business Recruitment, Retention and Expansion: DDD aims to facilitate the development of businesses Downtown through capitalizing on growth in the innovation and entrepreneurship system, developing strong relationships with local office tenants, and catalyzing increase in the retail market by supporting foot traffic and vastation. 2) Built Environment: Our organization seeks to support the cultivation of a thriving real estate development market by coordinating incentives and tax credits to DDD redevelopment sites. We hope to work with the City and development agencies to remove barriers to the production of new uses—specifically housing. Curious to know more about our long-term focus areas and strategies to address them? A Starting Point for Creating More Walkable, More Equitable Communities Want to get a handle on how pedestrian friendly your community is? Doing a sidewalk inventory is a logical starting point which can help you to identify areas in your city where sidewalk gaps exist. Unsurprisingly, often those gaps are more prevalent in less affluent neighborhoods. This webinar, which I've signed up for myself and is sponsored by America Walks together with the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center (PBIC), provides an overview on the process of conducting a sidewalk inventory. And it includes real world examples in places such as the City of Birmingham, AL. As the webinar title suggests, one of the underlying goals of conducting a sidewalk inventory is to help create more equitable communities. #walkability #pedestriansafety #pedestrian #pedestranfriendly #americawalks
