  • That’s a wrap on elementary school! Say hello to the new class of middle schoolers! We are so excited to have just celebrated with our new fifth graders at their 4th grade rising-up ceremonies! They have spent their entire elementary careers falling in love with learning, finding their own voices, and discovering new talents and passions and we can’t wait to see them continue to grow and learn in middle school.

  • Congratulations to our kindergarteners, who just celebrated the close of their very first year here at Success Academy and are ready to take on first grade! Over 2,000 scholars are leaving this school year reading at or above grade level, having experienced hands-on, inquiry-based science classes 5 days a week, and with dozens of new friends whose relationships will continue to grow in the next school year. Let’s celebrate our new first graders in the comments below!🧡

  • “Curating this show is the highlight of our year and we look forward to seeing our scholar’s artistic abilities shine and grow from year to year. We are so fortunate to aid in the development of our art teachers, as well, to highlight the work they are doing with their scholars inside and outside of the art classroom.” - Mrs. Bilotti, Visual Arts Program Manager. This year was our biggest Visual Arts Showcase yet - with over 500 scholar artworks selected to be featured at the Agora Gallery. Seeing families come together to view scholar art from grades K-12 in a Chelsea Art Gallery is such a special part of the year!

  • The SA Athletics Squash Program has concluded its pilot year and the elementary scholars who participated made incredible progress. We are excited about expanding the program to a second location in the next school year that will serve even more scholars and school locations. "I want to get better and become a champion. I really like math and science at school, and now when we talk about how to hold the racket I can see how the angle of my arm should be a certain way. So I can apply that knowledge on the court." - Saja A. Union Squre scholar and squash player.

  • And just like that, another commencement has come and gone! We're sending off the “class that gets it done” - the Class of 2028 - onto their next chapter. Their grit and determination helped them become the seventh class to achieve 100% college acceptance to four-year colleges or universities. We couldn’t be more excited for what their future holds 🧡

  • Congratulations to Taiwo, a scholar from Harlem1, who had her piece “The Human Waterfall,” selected for the prestigious 10th Annual Manhattan Borough Arts Festival. “It’s a waterfall to represent calmness, and when you hold it upside down, it looks like a human holding a waterfall. It feels really good to be selected for the festival, and I’m really proud of myself. I wanted my artwork to be in a place where lots of people would see it.” Taiwo's piece will be displayed at The Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building at the Modern Museum of Art (yes, you read that right… the MoMA)! until June 2, 2024. https//bit.ly/3R3BoqA
