John Legend showered his wife Chrissy Teigen with love and support after she shared her abortion story with Vice President Kamala Harris

The music superstar, 45, took to his Instagram Stories on Saturday to post a heartfelt message with a clip of the supermodel, 38, speaking about reproductive rights at the White House

'Proud of my wife for being a brave leader and a great listener on this issue,' the Grammy winner wrote. 'She led a powerful conversation on reproductive rights at the White House on Thursday.'

The All of Me singer went on to say that he was 'honored' to be part of the event alongside their children Luna, 8, Miles, 6, Esti, 16 months, and 11-month-old Wren.

At the event, Chrissy praised the vice president and the Biden campaign for making abortion rights an important part of their reelection campaign and not shying away from sharing stories of women struggling with new limits on abortions after the Supreme Court overturned Roe V. Wade.

'Sharing all of these stories and humanizing this taboo subject is really an important thing,' Teigen said.

Teigen tearfully shared her experience of having an abortion at the Feminist Women’s Health Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

'It doesn't have to be this place of darkness that's scary and the level of comfort I felt just being at your clinic was so incredible and so beautiful and something I actually wished for myself, I found it to be such a beautiful place, that it was just so, so, special,' she said.

In 2020, Teigen shared the news that she had a miscarriage at 20 weeks, losing her son Jack.

But in 2022, after the Supreme Court Dobbs v. Jackson decision, she revealed it was actually an abortion that she said saved her life

'Let’s just call it what it was: It was an abortion. An abortion to save my life for a baby that had absolutely no chance. And to be honest, I never, ever put that together until, actually, a few months ago,' she said.

Teigen's husband John Legend was present for the event held at the White House executive office video set. Attendance was limited to select media outlets and was not broadcast live by the White House.

The conversation coincided with the two year anniversary of the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in June 2021.

Teigen grew more outspoken about abortion after the ruling, sharing details of the pregnancy she chose to end with an abortion.

Teigen and Legend publicly supported Harris during the 2020 campaign.

After Teigen appeared at a campaign rally with Harris, she famously claimed she was 'not showering off my Kamala hug.'

Both Legend and Teigen were filmed celebrating the news of Biden's victory cheering and shouting 'f**k Donald Trump' while hanging out of their Land Rover SUV on November 7th.
