Aston Villa winger Moussa Diaby is attracting fresh interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.

Villa beat the Riyadh-based club to Diaby's signature a year ago when they bought him from Bayer Leverkusen for a club record £51.9million. But Al Nassr are considering a return as they look to tweak their squad after finishing runners up last season.

They have Cristiano Ronaldo in their squad but are listening to offers for Sadio Mane this summer.

Diaby made 54 appearances for Villa and scored 10 goals to help them into the Champions League in his first season but the 24-year old was still left out of Didier Deschamps' France squad for the European Championships.

With Diaby signing a deal until 2028 and a key member of Diaby's side, it will cost Al-Nassr a hefty fee if they want to prise the forward away from Villa Park.

He is seen as a key member of Unai Emery's side in the Aston Villa season that saw them finish fourth in the Premier League last season.

The Spaniard is keen to see his side kick on further next term, though it remains unclear whether Villa would be open to doing business.

Al-Nassr, meanwhile, are still searching for their first major trophy since the arrival of Ronaldo in January last year.

They have finished second in the last two Saudi Pro League seasons, coming up short by 14 points in the most recently campaign as they lost out to A-Hilal.

Ronaldo was left in tears in his most-recent game for the club, which was a penalty shootout defeat by Al-Hilal in the King's Cup final.

Villa are understood to have met their requirements PSR wise with the sale of Omari Kellyman to Chelsea and Tim Iroegbunam to Everton.
