Kylian Mbappe was pictured arriving with the French squad in Leipzig amid doubts the forward will feature after breaking his nose in their Euro 2024 opener.

The French superstar was forced off after a collision with Kevin Danso on Monday night.

France won 1-0 thanks to a Maximilian Wober own goal but the blow sparked fears about Mbappe's participation in the rest of the Euros.

Mbappe was pictured in training with the French squad on Wednesday, raising the prospect he could yet feature in their remaining group stage matches.

Former France team doctor Fabrice Bryand told previously told L'Equipe that Mbappe would be sidelined for 10 days at a minimum - ruling him out of the rest of the group stages.

The French national team revealed that Mbappe did not require surgery as first thought and would have a mask made for him to ensure he could play.

Their official X account shared photos of the squad arriving in Leipzig on Thursday, where Didier Deschamps side will face the Netherlands.

Mbappe was pictured among the arrivals with the new Real Madrid forward seen wearing sunglasses as he stepped off the team bus.

Deschamps had previously been downbeat about Mbappe's prospects of featuring in the rest of the group stage.

'I don't have the elements in my hands. He didn't get off lightly,' Deschamps said post-match after the 1-0 win over Austria.

'It is still to be seen. I cannot at this stage give the answer. He's not doing well. He's with the medical staff. His nose got badly hit that's for sure. We need to check, but it seems quite complicated, which is really unfortunate for us tonight.'

Mbappe was pictured feeling his nose after returning to training on Wednesday, but still took part in the session and was pictured shooting at goal.

Elsewhere he was in good spirits, clasping his hands and laughing with team-mates, while another photo saw him talking with Deschamps.

The 25-year-old was in a jokey mood about his condition, tweeting: 'Any ideas for masks?' in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

He has a history with masks. After he arrived at PSG in 2017, his new colleagues joked that he bared a striking resemblance to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle character Donatello.

The joke went viral and they followed it up by gifting him a luxury Dior box with a Donatello mask inside.

France and the Netherlands both began Euro 2024 by earning victories, with the two nations eyeing qualification to the knockout stage on Friday.
