This weekend the eyes of Europe will be on Germany as Euro 2024 gets underway.

Bar the few thousand lucky enough to be in the stadiums, fans will gather around their televisions in anticipation as they wait to see what their countries can achieve on the big stage.

Some will have more luxury TVs than others, however. Bigger living rooms, more expensive snacks, fewer worries, perhaps.

Like any member of the public, some of the continent's biggest celebrities will be tuning into cheer on their sides, be it royalty, sportspeople, or models.

Mail Sport runs through some of the most famous football fans from some of the top nations at Euro 2024.

Germany - Boris Becker

Host nation Germany kick off the tournament against Scotland and don't bet against a celebrity or two turning up to the game in Munich.

Boris Becker, a sportsperson himself, is an avid supporter of his home country. At club level, it's Bayern Munich for the six-time Grand Slam winner.

At club level, he has an affiliation for both Chelsea and Bayern Munich. When it comes to international football, however, there are no split loyalties, as he made perfectly clear before the 2002 World Cup final.

'On the one hand I'm very surprised, because we didn't have the best squad leading up to the World Cup,' Becker told BBC Sport. 'But history repeats itself and we apparently are a very good tournament team, and we get better with each match.'

He has also been known to leave tennis events early, according to Novak Djokovic, who revealed there was no negotiation for his former coach when it came to watching his country play at the 2014 World Cup, which they won.

France - President Emmanuel Macron

France's president, Emmanuel Macron, once again met the team before they jetted off to Euro 2024.

He was seen speaking to captain and star player Kylian Mbappe about his impending move to Real Madrid, and has been known to support the team all over the world.

The politician was seen in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup final when the defending champions came up short against Lionel Messi's Argentina, and is set to be in Germany this month.

The presence of the president carries expectation, but he and the French side will hope they can lift the European Championship title on July 14.

Spain - Manolo el del Bombo

Though he is not a direct celebrity, Manolo el del Bombo is Spain's most famous fan, recognised by most across the country and an ever-present at games.

'I lost everything for football,' he told the Guardian in 2012. 'My family, my business, my money, the lot. But I would do it all over again tomorrow. There is just nothing like representing your country.'

Manuel Caceres Artesero has in the past been welcomed into Spain's training camp, travelled with the squad, and mingled with royalty. He can sometimes be seen on the pitch, and is often asked to pose for photos with fans.

He began playing the drums over 50 years ago and hasn't looked back. He once returned from a tournament to find his wife and children had left him, but has no regrets.

Now 75, keep you eyes peeled for a shot of the drummer on the TV during the Euros. You will likely not have a choice when it comes to hearing him.

Croatia - Ivana Knoll

Former Miss Croatia Ivana Knoll became an internet sensation during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, after various photos of her wearing revealing outfits in the country's colours went viral during the tournament.

Dubbed 'the world's sexiest football fan', she has three million followers on Instagram and has been pictured with some of the biggest names across sport, including Erling Haaland, Shaquille O'Neal and ex-Formula One champion Fernando Alonso.

Knoll, 26, will be flying out to Germany to support Croatia throughout Euro 2024, and enjoyed an interview with BILD before the tournament gets underway.

She told the German outlet: 'I had a boyfriend who I was with for 10 years. We broke up last year. Now I'm single, but I'm not looking for a new man at the moment.'

Ukraine - Vitali Klitschko

The Klitschko brothers, two heavyweight boxing titans, have made no secret of their loves for their country.

Vitali and Wladimir have been front and centre of the war with Russia, and their passions extend to the football field.

Vitali is perhaps more involved than Wladimir. Now mayor of Kyiv, he can regularly be seen in the stands cheering on his side, and he will be backing Serhiy Rebrov and Co in Germany this summer.

England - Prince William

The president of the Football Association is arguably the biggest England supporter full stop.

He is the non-footballing face of the side, and will be flying out to Germany next week to support Gareth Southgate's men in the group stage.

The future King met up with the squad at St George's Park before they jetted off to their base and wished them all the best as they look to deliver their first major trophy since 1966.

Expect to see him as the focus of directors' cameras during the tournament as he backs the boys.

Scotland - Rod Stewart

Though he is English, rock star Rod Stewart is a proud member of the Tartan Army.

He has been pretty vocal in recent times about his support for the quality of Scottish football, and will hope his side can back up his claims when it comes to international competition this summer.

'To all intents and purposes I am English,' he told TalkSport in 2021. 'I've never pretended I never said I was a Scotsman, so let's get that out of the way.

'My dad was born in Leith in Edinburgh. He had a big bearing on the football that we liked. He'd always say he was a Hibs supporter. He'd always say about the players who played in those days. And he'd always talk about the Wembley wizards.

'So that sort of rubbed off on me and my brothers, and we just became Scotland supporters.'

Portugal - Shawn Mendes

If you didn't know singer Shawn Mendes is half Portuguese, you do now.

The star's father is from the country, while his mother is from England. He was born in Canada. It's split loyalties for the 25-year-old, who has given himself two solid shots at success this summer.

One player stands out, too...

'I follow Portugal and England because of my parents, who are from the two countries, he was once quoted as saying. 'In the World Cup I'm always cheering for Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo, who is my favorite player and probably one of my biggest inspirations.'

Italy - Sophia Loren

Sophia Loren is so much of an Italy fan that she once tried her hand at football herself in front of the squad.

That was back in 1990, ahead of the World Cup, but she didn't get the call-up to feature in the home tournament.

During Euro 2012, Loren and her sister, Maria Scicolone, were snapped watching Italy take on Germany while at the Taormina Film Festival, in Sicily, while the game was in Warsaw, Poland.

Italy came up short that year, but she will have been ecstatic when they lifted the trophy at Wembley three years ago.
