A feisty King's Guard horse took its job to protect Buckingham Palace very seriously when a tourist stood too close for comfort.
Video shows the shocking moment the horse clamped down on a woman's ponytail as she posed for a photo at the Horse Guards Parade.
The animal, ridden by a soldier from the Blues and Royals, was mounted next to a sign warning visitors: 'Beware! Horses may kick or bite.'

In a similar incident - which appears to involve the same horse - a separate tourist was nipped on the shoulder while her friend takes her photograph
The clip shows the horse swinging its head towards the woman as she stands with her back to the animal. The animal then bites down on her hair, flailing her around, until she manages to break free and scurry off.

The woman backs away from the horse and stares at it in shock with her mouth opened wide and a hand on her chest.
While both tourists were shocked by the ambush, the soldier appears unfazed by the horse's unfriendly encounter.

The incidents come just weeks after a furious member of the King's Guard shouted at a tourist who twice tried to grab his horse's reins.
The King's Life Guard is conducted by soldiers of the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment at Horse Guards Parade.
Troops have mounted The King's Life Guard here since the Restoration of King Charles II in 1660.
The Household Cavalry, the 'guardians of the monarch', is a union of the two most senior regiments in the British Army: The Life Guards and The Blues & Royals.

Don't stand too close! The times unsuspected tourists including a child have been nipped by King's Guard horses... and told off by Buckingham Palace soldier for touching him
Today's hair-raising surprise for one tourist will not come as so much of a shock to some royal fans due to a history of incidents in which visitors have found themselves at the mercy of royal guards and their steeds.
A hilarious video captured the moment a tourist got a nasty shock after he stood too close to a King's Guard horse while on a day out in London.
The clip, posted on Facebook on Christmas Day, shows two tourists posing for a photo with the black steed at the Horse Guards Parade near St James's Park.
A video uploaded online claimed a young boy was bitten by one of the King's Guards' Horses
At first, the horse seems calm and the guard maintains a typically composed look at the popular tourist attraction and site of the trooping of the colour.
The two tourists put their arms around each other as they pose with a cheesy grin for the camera next to the royal mount.
But the horse suddenly notices the couple standing close by and quickly ducks its head to give the unsuspecting man a quick nip.
The clip, posted on TikTok channel thekingsguardsofficial, shows a woman leaning in for a photo with the guard, who is dressed in full armour
The cheeky beast manages to sink its teeth into the man's black puffer-jacket for a fraction of a second before he yelps and jumps away in fright.
In November, social media users rushed to the defence of one of the King's Guards' horses after it allegedly 'bit' a child.
A video of the alleged incident that was shared on TikTok appears to show a man comforting the child after being bitten and checking to see if there is a mark, MyLondon reports.
The clip then panned across the child and to the nearby sign, which reads: 'Beware. Horses may kick or bite. Thank you.'
Just earlier this month, a video posted online showed a guard exploding at a young woman who leaned in for a photo with him.
The clip, posted on TikTok channel thekingsguardsofficial, shows the woman with the guard, who is dressed in full armour and wielding a huge sword.
But when she gets too close he stamps his foot and turns towards her, holding a large sword, and bellows: 'Do not touch the King's Life Guard!'
