CHANNEL UPDATE FORWARDING

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.4.3 update, we announced that WhatsApp was working on a feature to allow users to pin their favorite channels at the top of the list. With this enhancement, WhatsApp aims to offer users a more personalized experience in the future, enabling them to quickly access their most important channels without the need to scroll through their entire list. It appears that WhatsApp is committed to offering additional tools to further improve the experience with channels for all users. After installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.9.24 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is rolling out a new channel update forwarding feature!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, some beta testers can now experiment with a new forwarding button to quickly share the channel update with their chats, groups, and status updates. It’s worth noting that the feature to forward channel updates was already available in the previous updates, but WhatsApp is making forwarding channel content even faster with a dedicated shortcut. The button is located next to the reaction view, making it faster for users to forward the update without selecting this option within the overflow menu at the top of the screen.

In our opinion, this feature might encourage users to forward channel updates to their contacts and groups. By displaying the forwarding button for any channel updates, WhatsApp is simplifying the process of sharing relevant information from channels, making this interaction definitely faster. With the shortcut provided by the forwarding button, users can efficiently share channel updates with their contacts and groups with just a few taps, eliminating the need for manual navigation through the overflow menu. We believe that this shortcut not only saves time but also encourages users to share updates from their favorite channels more frequently, as this action is now promptly visible and easily accessible.

A new channel update forwarding feature is available to some beta testers who install the latest updates of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming weeks.
