The Slovenian 2023 Eurovision Song Contest entry Carpe Diem by Joker Out was the second most played track on Slovenian radio stations last year, bested only by Miley Cyrus's Flowers.

Releasing the data, the IPF institute for the promotion of rights of recording artists pointed out that no Slovenian song could be found among the most played tracks for many years. In 2022 the most popular Slovenian song ranked only 48th.

Carpe Diem earned Joker Out a 21st place finish with 78 points at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest. The song peaked at number one in Slovenia and reached the top ten in Latvia, Lithuania and Sweden.

Having enjoyed huge popularity at home even before, the band have since carved out a successful international career for themselves, selling out concert venues across Europe.

They are currently recording their third studio album in Hamburg. They will be among the line-up appearing in the Night of the Dragon, the NBA-stars-studded farewell match for Goran Dragić, on 24 August.

The band were conferred a special IPF award at a ceremony in Novo Mesto on 7 May. Also honoured was the most played Slovenian act in general, the award going to pop singer Nina Pušlar.

After Carpe Diem, ranking third among the biggest hits on Slovenian radio waves last year was Pink with Trustfall.
