The only reason to use the app is the HBO content. It can't remember the last episode I watched. It can't remember the last voice language I used. It for some reason belives that it can show me unskipable trailers even though I have a Pro (whatever it means) subscription. It wouldn't stand a chance in a fair comparison against Netflix or even Google Play. Prime Video, which doesn't even try to touch a bar, is even better. I wish HBO Max comes to Germany...

If there would be an alternative, I would switch. First the product: Almost 30€ a month to watch a bit of football and a whole lot of advertisment. Sadly they don't even cover the entire Bundesliga anymore and barely show any CL. Luckily they still have the entire 2. Bundesliga, literally the only reason I haven't canceled my subscription yet. Then the app itself: The App is unstable, breaks down a lot and tends to buffer so much (without any apparent reason, e.g. 5G internet connection).

As everyone else is saying, the app is pretty much worse than all competitors. It restarts a couple of times in a single episode, doesn't remember the language preferences for the audio or the subtitles and it's not the smoothest or the prettiest UI out there. The content is great, that's why I chose it instead of Netflix. However, this app isn't on par with the content.
