A Window into Japan’s Smut

The Japanese adult film industry has been one of the most venerated and respected branches of porn on an international level for decades. Technical Specs

Whatever downsides Avgle might have certainly fall under the technical side of things. Their videos are pristine, there’s no two ways around it. However, their website leaves something to be desired. First of all, a significant chunk of it is in Japanese. The videos come with the original titles which are not translated so it’s really hard to figure out what it is you’re seeing. You’d have to watch the video to figure out what it’s about. That’s not a major gripe, but it is something you have to deal with.

When it comes to the video streaming, you’re in for a very smooth experience. Loading the videos and skipping through them is an absolute breeze which is amazing considering the amount of videos they host and how popular they are. However, they clearly make their money back as their home page is littered with ads. Yes, there is a clear section on the left side of the screen that lists all the videos that you’re looking for, but the rest of the page is covered in animated and static ads for other websites. You know for a fact that they’re getting paid hard cash for this coverage.

When you open up a video you get even more ads across the entire screen that prevent you from watching what you came to see. You need to methodically click out of them one by one until the video actually starts to play. Luckily, there are no ads within the actual videos, so once you get past the first wall of ads you’re all set to go.

Unfortunately, the endless wall of JAV videos, which might actually be infinite as far as you can tell on the home page, doesn’t offer infinite scrolling. This would be a very welcome addition as there do appear to be a near infinite amount of videos on the site unless you get very technical with your search algorithms. On the bottom of the home page you’re going to see that you’re on page one of 999, but that 999 is simply the most that can be displayed. In actuality there are 8749 pages on Avgle as of the time of writing this review, and that number will grow by the time you’re finished reading it.
