You can tell a lot about a person based on their underwear. The variables are endless: tight, loose, white, colored, tasseled, lace, stringy, crumpled, polka-dotted. And while celebrity undergarments have historically been limited to the realm of creepy stalkers, times are changing.
Now you can steal a look at knickers from the likes of Jarvis Cocker, Alison Goldfrapp, Nick Cave, Sacha Baron Cohen, Ricky Gervais, Jah Wobble, Fergie, Helen Mirren, and more without breaking the law or feeling like a complete scum bag. (Via NME.)
The celebs were asked by Guardian writer Simon Hattenstone to send him signed underthings to sell on eBay in an effort to help New North London Synagogue raise funds for destitute asylum seekers-- he even wrote a column about the stunt.
Whether any of the celebs actually wore the items up for auction is unclear. Let's leave it at that.
