Op never said anything about re-encoding,just use a free program that can do all that without re-encoding,do a search here for dvd authoring.

Might be that the file was 16:9 but flagged as 4:3.Have you tried playing the file on the tv's video player?

The video has to be re-encoded to 16:9 if you want all players to play it normally,it may play fine by some players but if you play it on your tv it will play at 4:3.

Makemkv is freeware till it becomes pay version only.$50 if you want to buy it and not have to keep putting in updated serial numbers.Also makemkv is a video extractor,not an encoder.

There's a lot of jitter in your original mpg and upscaling it amplifies the jitter so i say it's best not to upscale it.

If you do buy it get 16gb of ram,it will be fast enough for video editing.

Not likely,if they are the only files left then there's no fixing them,only other thing you can do is see if there's any deleted files on the sd using a recovery app.

As long as your computer can handle it with out over heating then there should be no problem doing that.

I replaced the card cause i do high end gaming,the rx was sometimes getting problems with midi outputs just vanishing due to driver conflicts.

I thought you meant my Creative Sound BlasterX AE-5,the audigy rx 5 is card i replaced which had midi support.

I got a midi player installed that does the same job,CoolSoft_VirtualMIDISynth_2.13.7.

Just got the card and installed it and no support for midi play back.
