I'd still like to hear from people running WinDV on Windows10. -

Right; DV file "capture" is nothing more than a file transfer. Still, does Windows 10 natively have the DV codecs? That appears to be the problem plehoediv experienced. -

I like the options and quality of Scenalyzer Live, but I also wonder how many people have gotten WinDV to work on Windows 10, and how? -

Nice, your experience is quite similar to mine, except I was using the Canon Pixma iP3000 series for years and now the Canon MX920 series. However, now both those are discontinued, as is your Canon Pixma 7200/7250.
What currently available Canon printers include the disc printing feature?
Two of my three Canon MX920 series are erroring out at present. I still have a couple more standing by in the closet, but I'm wondering what the next replacement for disc printing will be.
Unless someone knows how to fix a 5011 error code on these Canons? -

Pretty sure Mexico is considered to be in North America, as it was a member of NAFTA.
If you want to include it as not US/Canada, then yes, say Latin America. -

Canada, no adware. Version 1.7.20538, because I've refused to "upgrade" for a long time.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Are you listening, Microsoft? -

That is true. So I'd be curious if dtags succeeds in getting a correctly identified plate or not. In either case, I hope he posts before and after pics. -

The days of having a good laugh at the "Enhance" TV and movie trope may be coming to an end, since AI and machine learning have been progressing.

Best of luck on your search. I'll be curious to know how it goes, so post your results. (y) -

My extensive collection of iP3000, iP4000 and iP5000 Canon printers for printing on discs have all died off. I must've gone through over 20 of them over the years. I now use the even better Canon MX922, and stocked up on them just before they were discontinued about four years ago.
Here's the good news for you: You absolutely don't need the rollers for this mod. I never used them and it worked just fine. -

Of course, I've always believed you can't create pixels where no pixels existed.
However... I recently had a go with the free trial at MyHeritage.com to try out their AI portrait facial animation feature. It's quite interesting, sometimes hit or miss, and both mesmerizing and creepy at the same time. Definitely in the realm of the Uncanny Valley.
But what I also found there was an "Enhance" feature that despite all the CSI exaggerations of the past, actually sharpened old blurry photos to an amazing extent, in some cases. Would it work on those license plates? I can't say, because my free trial is up. But it might be worth a shot.

It does still work, and while complicated, the quality is excellent for its format. I've still got a half dozen or so of them, and original remotes. Three units are still in my stack, though they don't get nearly as much use as they used to. Welcome to the Tosh club. :) -

Still very satisfied with my Toshiba XS-35 units when on occasion I still need to do a VHS transfer.
They produce excellent results, IF you can get one with a still functioning burner. That's why I have a few spare units in my stash.
You do see some on eBay from time to time, and aside from "as is/for parts" offerings that are worthless, you often see some saying "fully tested / no remote," which is a deceptive oxymoron, so caveat emptor. But if you can get one with the remote where you're sure the burner has been fully tested and is working, it's hard to beat these machines.
BTW, hi @oresetto, my longtime AVSForum guru buddy. :) plplplpl here. -

"Updates" these days seem to be less about bug fixes and improved features than about injecting new spyware and/or spamware.

OK, I volunteer to be a guinea pig. I ordered one of these, even though I've been scammed in the past by lower than advertised SD card capacity. We'll see. I guess I'm $5 worth of curious.

Once thing I've noticed about Macrium Reflect is that they often have software updates, like almost every month or two. While this could be a good thing and it means they're constantly perfecting their product, I've learned to be wary of good programs breaking bad. All of a sudden, they'll add in-app spam or pop-ups, add crapware to the installer, or even be taken over by a malevolent entity. There are so many good programs that have gone bad and turned on us over the years. -

I'd opine that whenever I went to buy a case online, I felt I really wanted to see and feel it for a physical quality build, whereas HDDs, mobos, etc., I've bought online with less reluctance, since the purchase is based less on physical characteristics than specs, reputation and track record. -
