Do you want to pursue your pointless crusade against a long-expired topic ban, or do you want to actually work on the encyclopedia? I, and pretty much everyone else who has tried to help or advise you, have had enough of this nonsense. Good faith (which after the recreation of that page is in doubt) only gets you so far. You have to display a minimum ability to learn as you work here, and you have failed to do that again and again. Try to be honest with yourself about the value of your continuing in this manner. What are you getting out of this? How is your life, or Wikipedia, improved by carping on and on about an old topic ban? Think about it, and think about wheter or not you actually intend to ever work on the encyclopedia or if instead you are just going to keep causing trouble until the project finally tires of this and kicks you out. :For fucks sake, I've learnt lots from Worm, he's been quite a good mentor. Btw, with your kind of behaviour, you are likely to misuse your tools some day. I have experience in wikis, because I own some wikis and I am even a member of some test wikis. And in case you haven't known, your administrator access won't last on your account, because some way you will loose it (by misuse of tools, by resignation, by inactivity, or by death). I've seen many times you have been warned for personal attacks. DYK

I applaud your attempts to build content and subsequently have it showcased in DYK. It's not always easy to find articles to create that are also interesting to you, and then it's not always easy to provide enough content to meet DYK...and even then it's not always a slam-dunk that the hook will be accepted. The core of what you are trying to do is right on target - adding content to the encyclopedia. It's unfortunate that your two recent DYKs were not suitable; don't let that get you down.

As a recommendation, perhaps you would do well to look at the new pages log. If you go to Special:Newpages and then click the link for 500 to show the 500 most recently created pages, you'll see quite a number of them are not even patrolled. Rather than select ones for tagging (need references, notability, etc), which has gotten you some notices (see above), I suggest you click back a few times (older 500) so that you get to a few days ago. That will land you at a set of articles which can use expanding, or which might even be DYK candidates with just a little work to clean them up. Checking myself, here are a few candidates that you could work with:

All of these articles were created in the last 24 hours or so - plenty of time to add content, clean up, check references, etc. and decide if they are suitable for DYK before the 5-day window expires. And I found them all on one page; there are literally thousands to choose from. Some have not even been patrolled yet, which tends to mean very few people have looked at them. I'm not saying the links above necessarily are all suitable candidates for DYK - in fact, they may not even all meet notability guidelines - but there is plenty for you to choose from there.

Why not give it a try?  Frank  |  talk  22:40, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[]

Good idea. Thanks for the info Frank. -Porch corpter (talk/contribs) 08:38, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[]

Cats

Please don't do things like [1] this - it's totally the wrong category - about 18 levels too high. I will prod the articles as it seems pretty clearly non-notable. Johnbod (talk) 03:53, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[]

Clarification

Can you expand on your requests at Template talk:Editnotices/Group/User:Porchcorpter and Template talk:Editnotices/Group/User talk:Porchcorpter? It looks to me like you can create the pages in question yourself, but I am mystified as to what you are trying to accomplish. Thanks!  Frank  |  talk  12:41, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[]

IIRC, only admins can edit group notices - even in user's userspace (could be wrong though). I think PC is just requesting the transclude, so he can have an edit notice on all his subpages without changing each one. WormTT · (talk) 08:47, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[]
(edit conflict)I created them as group notices for pages in my userspace. -Porch corpter (talk/contribs) 09:08, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[]
Got it, thanks.  Frank  |  talk  13:19, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[]

By the way

If you're interested in "taking the high road", you could just tag those pages with {{db-u1}} and be done with it. Neither of them serve any purpose and both reflect poorly on you. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:26, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[]

Misunderstanding of MfD and speedy deletion criterion G4

Hi Porchcropter, I noticed this change to your edit notice, which indicates that you misunderstood what the MfD outcome means, and what speedy deletion criterion G4 involves. This MfD ended as a "delete after user request", which means that the page User:Porchcorpter/Personal attack warning was deleted, because you had asked for it to be deleted. This does not have any bearing on any possible future warnings for personal attacks that may be posted to your user talk page. Now, there is no reason to believe that you are going to make personal attacks in future -- and if you don't, there will be no reason for anybody to post such warnings here. But if you made such an attack (remember, I don't think that you will, this is all hypothetical), other editors would be perfectly justified to warn you about it. And that would not be subject to G4 deletion - G4 only pertains to the recreation of pages that were deleted after consensus has been reached in a deletion discussion, and there are several important differences between such a recreation, and any hypothetical future warning against personal attacks on your user talk page. (You are free to remove most warnings and notices from your user talk page as per the user page guidelines, but G4 and the MfD outcome are unrelated to that, and there is no need to mention that in an edit notice because it's true for all user talk pages).

Hope this makes sense. All the best, --bonadea contributions talk 09:50, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[]

Ban proposal

Restore it again and you'll be blocked. Eagles 24/7 (C) 01:23, 28 December 2011 (UTC)[]

Absolutely not G4 -- 1) That content was NOT a G4 violation, 2) The MFD got closed as "delete per user request", and 3) It is now linked to the archive, exactly what has been said in the MFD. Open up an RFC here please. (Would you mind signing my guestbook?) -Porch corpter (talk/contribs) 01:45, 28 December 2011 (UTC)[]
I will not further waste the community's time with your nonsense by opening up an RfC. Eagles 24/7 (C) 01:53, 28 December 2011 (UTC)[]
Would you prefer to be considered mature yet fallible, or correct but childish? It's your call, but this behaviour makes you look a fool. Andy Dingley (talk) 01:55, 28 December 2011 (UTC)[]

Why are you even here?

Maybe before characterizing other Wikipedians as "troubled" you should look at yourself. Although I have, like everyne else, needed advice or help from other from time to time, nobody has ever suggested that I needed a mentor. I've never been topic banned. None of my user subpages have ever been found to be inappropriate. I do administrative tasks, but I also edit articles, often in the form of making simple improvements to brand new articles that hasty new page patrollers are trying to get speedy deleted. And the community has placed a great trust in me by granting me not only adminship but oversight. That's a powerful tool and abusing it or misusing it one single time will lead to it being taken away, and probably my admin tools along with it. Yet that has not happened because I pay attention to advice from more experienced Wikipedians and I respect consensus even when I happen to disagree with it. If I'm not sure what to do, I ask for input from others before doing anything, or I let someone else handle the situation. I'm not perfect, I make mistakes like anyone else. When I make them I try to learn from them. If consensus is against me I accept it even if I think it is wrong. Am I troubled, or are you?

You can't let go of any perceived slight no matter how long it has been, you don't follow advice given in good faith, and you haven't actually edited an article at all in over a month. Youve made 700 more edits to user talk pages than you have to articles, you've only made 500 more article edits than the number of edits you have made to user pages, mostly your own. And in all your time here you have only posted to article talk pages 65 times. You try to use your supposed "graduation" from mentorship as a shield to excuse things you have done since completing it. Nobody cares anymore that you completed Worm's mentorship course because, despite his incredible patience with you, your attitude is the same as it ever was. If you can't accept and learn from honest criticism, you can't work here.
