Arguments for recall

Gutierrez recall proponents

Gutierrez was targeted for recall by citizens who alleged that the developer of a warehouse complex dubbed the World Logistics Center held too much influence over the city. Iddo Benzeevi gave more than $400,000 to the independent expenditures committees that helped Gutierrez and another council member win election.

Jempson and Price recall proponents

Supporters of the World Logistics Center served Jempson and Price with recall papers. After federal and local authorities closed a corruption investigation without filing charges, supporters alleged that their election in a 2014 recall was based on lies.
