I am an artist, policy developer and activist. As a self identified autistic woman, disability rights are an area that I am passionate about. Other strong values include supporting education equity, the arts, and justice in all its forms.

  • If elected I will champion Bill H.180 which would ensure that disabled people in MA will finally have the same protections from physical harm that abled people have.
  • Too often gains in employment can mean a loss in assets if government benefits are lost in the process. I will focus on developing policies that will allow all residents the ability to build wealth over time, step by step, without penalties. These policies will include advocating for MassHealth and the state workers pension to be accessible for part time workers.
  • All residents deserve homes. I support diversifying housing options, and expanding zoning options. I would co-sign bills implementing rent control, the real estate transfer fee and taxing units that are not occupied. I also support keeping affordable units in the same neighborhoods as new builds.

Disability rights bills that are advocated for by disabled people. “Nothing about us without us.” Also policies that support all resident’s individual rights, including for body autonomy, privacy, self-determination, and physical / emotional safety,

Sarah Selvaggi Hernandez. She was one of the first openly autistic politicians and also an impactful activist.

Kindness is the most important characteristic for an elected official. Kindness is a quiet, subtle thing which can be missed and undervalued or not believed (due to cynicism). Kindness, however, can have the end result of more legislation being passed that will treat our residents fairly, with dignity and respect, offering them more protections and care.

Creativity, tenacity, ability to collaborate and strong negotiation skills.

To prioritize those residents who have the highest needs and struggles. To continue to learn and be open to shifts in thinking.

Simply to have made the world a better place.

I worked in my parent’s campground / family restaurant and bar. I worked there mainly in middle school and less so in high school.

The Lord of the Rings. I like how the character Frodo was able to destroy a danger because it did not occur to his enemy that he would be willing to give up power and sacrifice himself to achieve it.

“Everything is Politics” from the Archie’s Soundtrack.

Not fitting in, in many spaces. I have finally come to peace with that. I can now exist in most spaces by allowing myself to just be unique and not match others.

The ability to support the human rights of all residents including the right to an equitable education, affordable homes, employment, civic transparency, healthcare, and a stable climate.

Residents can put forth bills for consideration at the state house through their representative, even if the representative does not support the bill.

It is one type of useful experience, but other types of experience could be equally beneficial.

State representatives ideally should represent the wide variety of state residents. Because of this a wide variety of skills and expertise would be better than a limited number considered the “most helpful. ”

Have you heard about the butter rumor?
Never mind, I shouldn’t be spreading it.

Strongly support an elected school committee in Boston and the “Sunlight Act.”
