Campaign themes

2015

Hastings completed a voter guide profile for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:

What are your top priorities for the district?

1. Student achievement. I want to work to create policies that are effective, enforceable and beneficial to our students' growth. 2. Regain community trust. I would like to facilitate more transparency within the community. 3. Be a smart caretaker of our tax money and make certain there is no outsourcing of our support staff.

Why are you qualified to serve in this office?

I am a very detail-oriented person. I have a strong background in planning and preparation. I understand policies and operations and how they are supposed to be implemented. I will bring an open-minded attitude to the board with fresh energy and challenge old assumptions. I have a vested interest in the district's success with two children who will attend the district.[7]
