Attention Lake Catholic Alumni from the classes of 2015-2020 As the end of the school year and summer is upon us, we want to know what's going on in your life. We know some of you just graduated from college, just finished up your Master's or other post-graduate degree, got married, had a baby, got a new job, got an internship. Congratulations on those great life moments! Whatever you're up to, we want to know! If you are not aware, we have many avenues to keep our alumni in the loop with former classmates. We publish our weekly alumni newsletter (The Paw) every Friday during the school year (and once a month during the summer); we've published two editions of our magazine, Striving Forward, during the past year which includes many, many alumni highlights; and we post most all life updates on the alumni page of our website (lakecatholic.org). You'll be able to catch up on what your fellow Cougars are up to through any, or all, of those avenues. We want you to be included! Please use the link below to fill out a Google form, which will ask for your basic contact information (we need to have your correct email address to ensure that you're getting The Paw), but will also have an area for you to give us any life news you want to share. And the best part of it is, you'll be able to come back as often as you'd like to give us more good news as it happens! Additionally, we are looking for your input as we are in the planning stages of an alumni event strictly for the classes of 2015-2020. The second half of the form includes some questions that will help us narrow down the specifics of the event. We would love to have as many of you as possible at the event, so please let us know your thoughts. Your classes were such an important part of the Lake Catholic history that we want to be able to share your news, but also keep you in the loop of all the great things going on currently with our students, faculty and staff. So please take the time to fill out the form. If you talk to people from your class, or other classes in the 2015-2020 range, who might not have received this email, please forward to them. The reason they most likely didn't receive it is because we don't have a current email address for them. We need that information, so please pass along. In the meantime, we hope you stay in touch by following us on social media (@lakecatholic on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook) and checking our newly redesigned website (which launched back in January). If you ever need anything from us here at Lake Catholic, please don't hesitate to ask. Have a great summer, and we look forward to hearing from you! https://lnkd.in/gvRwQkCq

"As a first-generation student, her parents had little advice to offer, and her university didn’t provide any personalized academic advising." Great story of the Resilience of First-Gen Warriors. It really is a complicated process to navigate on your own as a young adult without any support. It can be so overwhelming, students can get lost and discouraged to finish the process. There is so much an institution can offer these days to help students in the process. Is your institution doing everything it can to help these First-Gen Warriors?
