This is the type of leadership we need in healthcare! Grassroots efforts to lead the charge in initiating the common sense within healthcare. Getting vocal about the benefits your health center brings to the community is necessary. Yet, we must continue to push our minds to move beyond what the billion dollar cottage industry that sits between manufacturers and covered entities continues to tell us: 340B is the only answer. The investment within yourselves is the answer. Your entity-owned pharmacy, your PBM to serve your employees. I would love to talk with you about how you can exist beyond 340B.
WHA nominated Reedsburg Area Medical Center's President and CEO Bob Van Meeteren to receive the 2023 American Hospital Association's Grassroots Champion Award for his service and efforts. “The importance of advocating for local health care is extremely important and is a personal passion of mine,” said Van Meeteren. “Developing strong relationships with our legislators is the cornerstone to continue to share the story of RAMC as well as rural health care. I am so honored to receive this award and share it with all who support a strong and viable rural health care system today and well into the future.” Every year, one individual in each state is honored as a “Grassroots Champion” by the American Hospital Association in consultation with state hospital associations. Congratulations, Bob! 🏆 Read more: https://ow.ly/OhlF50PjQ6n

I’ve always thought that the “great consolidation” amongst health systems will lead to large regional Kaiser-esque models, where the payors, clinicians, and facilities are integrated. What’s really interesting about Jaewon Ryu’s statement below is he says Geisinger is the “first inaugural member.” That makes me think Risant Health isn’t done, it wasn’t just a singular acquisition, but will be the first of many other “member” organizations that will lead to a huge conglomerate across the nation. What do you think? Am I reading into this too much? Or will Risant rival HCA + UHC in its ability to gain market share through vertical integration of clinical and health plan assets?
Our founder, Abigail Geisinger, famously said to “make my hospital right; make it the best.” In 1915, that meant building the best hospital and having the best doctors and nurses. Today, making it the best also means having the best technology, digital tools, data and analytics, creating the best consumer experience, and so much more – all coming together to deliver the best care possible to improve the health of our communities. That is why Geisinger is proud to formally join Risant Health as its inaugural member, which will accelerate our vision to make better health easier for the communities we serve here in Pennsylvania and to be a part of a solution that we believe can transform health care in America. And we are excited to join in that path with Kaiser Permanente, a world-class organization and kindred spirit that has long been the gold standard in positively impacting the health of populations and communities. But none of this would be possible without the tremendous foundation that has been built here over so many years by so many people, to make Geisinger a leader in advancing the best health of communities. Big shout-out and thanks to our team members, our board of directors, and our communities that support us and entrust us with their health. It is truly an exciting day for us as we enter this bright future ahead.

Thrilled to share that we are presenting at this year's Reimagining Primary Care Forum on April 23 in Cambridge, MA. We're seeing behavioral health needs higher than ever before. And that burden? It is felt first in primary care. That gets at the very reason we need to "reimagine" primary care - and it is what behavioral health integration is designed to solve. Join us* as we unpack that and explore how the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) bridges the gap between data and action. ➡ https://lnkd.in/eJgGTaDQ #ReimaginingPrimaryCare #RPCForum #PrimaryCare #CoCM *Register using code "Mirah10" for 10% off.
