CEO of Lek Technology Consultants | I liberate Orlando businesses from the storm of bad IT and technology
💬"I can use my computers until they break." If I had a penny for every time I came across this scenario, I'd be living the dream on my own private island. 🏝️ Although you might save money by not purchasing new software as soon as it comes out, there's a limit to how long you can wait before your business starts falling behind. ❗Case in point: Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 will no longer receive updates, bug fixes, or technical support after October 2023. 🗓️ Is your business prepared? 🖥️ #Microsoft #Microsoft2012 #ITInfrastructure #Technology #TechProvider #ITSupport

This one is for the IT folks. A recent Microsoft update KB5025305 has made using a VPN over WiFi on Windows 11 almost impossible. The update makes using an L2TP VPN so slow that no applications can work over it. I had this with a client this week, their application provider who delivers their app over VPN did not have a solution. So I started digging around online looking for clues and ideas to solve this. I found what we call a "workaround". I have not fixed the issue, that is not possible until Microsoft releases a patch themselves. I discovered that by installing another application this enables the VPN to work again. What was interesting was that the issue only affects VPN when you are on a WiFi connection. If you use a cable (ethernet) then it works normally. The workaround I have replaces some of the files involved in VPN over WiFi and take Windows back to a working configuration Anyway. Any one who has this issue and has not got the fix, DM me and I can share it with you!
