As a BCN Bluegrass PACE Care team member, you will be a part of a program providing all-inclusive healthcare that keeps Kentuckians aged 55+, who may otherwise need nursing home care, living safely at home. Our PACE experts work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to decide what’s best for each PACE participant, bringing all aspects of medical and personal care, plus social and support services. About The Role
The PACE Activities Coordinator plans, develops, implements, and oversees recreational activities for PACE program participants. The Activities Coordinator coordinates volunteer services in the PACE Center as participant needs are identified in collaboration with the Center Director, IDT members, and the Bluegrass Care Navigator Volunteer Department.
Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Two years' experience in a social or recreational program providing coordinating services for a frail or elderly population within the last 5 years, one of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting.
Completion of course that meets the requirements and objectives for the state of Kentucky for Activity Professionals in Kentucky Nursing Home.
Food handling permit required, to be completed upon hire.
Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
Ability to use equipment with visual and auditory mechanisms.
Ability to effectively communicate in English.
Flexible schedule to meet the needs of participants.
Ability to physically access any home (i.e., navigate stairs and narrow spaces, tolerate heat and lack of air conditioning.)
Ability to manage stress.
Ability to perform the essential functions and physical requirements (including lifting participants and/or equipment, bending, pushing/pulling, kneeling) of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working order, that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements, with personal auto liability insurance in compliance the state insurance laws governing liability, property damage, and bodily injury.
Team members will be expected to comply with Bluegrass Care Navigators (BCN) Employee Health, infectious disease, and vaccination policies.
