Summary

The Partnerships & Philanthropy (P&P) team seeks an intern interested in learning about key functions that support and amplify private sector fundraising at Save the Children, specifically donor-facing communications, cross-departmental coordination, asset creation and knowledge management.

The intern will provide a range of research, writing, information management, and administrative support to the Impact Communications team. In return, the individual will gain experience in developing compelling donor-facing communications materials, supporting the advancement of fundraising strategies, and will develop a familiarity with current trends in philanthropy, children’s issues, and the day-to-day operations of a large international non-governmental organization (INGO).

By supporting projects and research with the Impact Communications team, the intern will gain a comprehensive understanding of key functions that support and advance private fundraising efforts: individual donors, corporate partners and private foundations.

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties & Responsibilities)

  • Draft, copyedit, and support the production of reports, proposals, concept papers, donor emails and other specialized donor communications materials during fundraising efforts;
  • Support the development of compelling written content and multimedia assets, such as newsletters, blogs, etc.
  • Support knowledge management efforts, including the cataloguing of assets and resources on the Fundraiser’s Toolkit and key impact communications materials;
  • Conduct research/landscape analyses and present findings to the team(s) on philanthropic and communications trends and priorities including on cross-cutting issues;
  • Research alignment with existing and potential foundation donors, corporate partners and individual donors;
  • Support creative input for social media, marketing and communications strategy and/or campaigns; and
  • Support other special projects and initiatives related to programming across content areas including food insecurity, humanitarian responses, climate change, gender, education, health, and more.

Required Qualifications— (These May Not Be Altered)

  • Must be an actively enrolled Associate, Bachelor, Master or other post high school education program, or have graduated within 6 months of program start date;
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English;
  • Professional proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with individuals and teams;and
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

Classification: Paid Intern

Part-time: Up to 24 hours per week

Expected Program Dates: September 23 - December 6, 2024

Pay: $17.00 per hour
