Waldorf University, located in Forest City Iowa, has an immediate full-time opening for the position of Director of Admissions/Freshman Recruitment. In collaboration with the Vice President of Enrollment (VPEM) this position will plan and facilitate recruitment efforts for the Residential campus. This position works collaboratively with Admissions leadership, Admissions Counselors, Director of Pillars, Performing Arts Program Directors, as well as other Faculty, Directors, Coaches and Council level staff to meet the universities enrollment initiatives.

The Director of Admissions (DOA) - Freshman Recruitment will develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment program that incorporates strategies to proactively recruit Freshman students to Waldorf University. This position will provide leadership for the planning and execution of annual and long-range recruitment goals that will support enrollment initiatives for the university. The DOA-Freshman is responsible for participating in activities and tasks that result in moving students through the enrollment funnel within the freshman segments of our recruiting efforts. The enrollment funnel includes the following critical processes: Prospect Generation, Inquiry Management, Application Development, and Admission to Enrollment. This position will represent the university at various college fairs, high school visits, and community events. In collaboration with the Vice President of Enrollment (VPEM) and the DOA for Transfer and International this position assists with the implementation, creation and administration of the strategic enrollment plan and day to day functions of the Admissions office. The position supports the administrative requirements to provide a proactive enrollment culture and will be responsible for task related items to meet recruitment demands. The primary objective of this position is to effectively articulate the mission and unique strengths of the university and the value of a private education.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Successfully lead the recruitment efforts by supporting the counselors as they travel to local high schools to provide admission services and meet with counselors, parents and prospective students, coordinate alumni-admission functions, attend college fairs, and maintain regular contact with prospects, applicants and counselors.
  • Lead, supervise and professionally develop the freshman admissions counselors to meet Waldorf University’s enrollment plan.
  • Serve as the CRM Administrator
  • Serve on a variety of Enrollment Committees and provide industry knowledge and experience of enrollment management.
  • Serve in an administrator capacity to provide leadership, expansion and development of the recruiting efforts.
  • Work in close collaboration with Academic, Performing Arts and Athletic programs to recruit prospective students to Waldorf University to achieve recruitment goals.
  • In collaboration with marketing create and manage the automated admissions communication – Radius CRM.
  • Responsible for continued design, development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of programs that can potentially impact recruitment.
  • Develops and implements a data-driven assessment plan to regularly evaluate the effectiveness of enrollment activities and adjusts enrollment initiatives as necessary.
  • Coordinates and collaborates enrollment efforts with the Marketing, Student Life, Enrollment Management and Academic Departments.
  • Maintain industry knowledge of SEVIS regulations
  • Be a trained Designated School Official (DSO) for the University under the direction of the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO).
  • Maintain visibility and accessibility for external partners, students, parents, staff, and faculty.
  • Collaborate with all student types: non-athlete and athlete
  • Other duties as assigned by the VPEM.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of admissions leadership (preferred), customer service or sales management experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  • Experience with students in a College/University setting preferred
  • Valid drivers license required
  • Position will require regular office hours, some evening and/or weekend obligations, and seasonal travel which may include overnight travel.
  • Benefits: This is a full-time, non-exempt and benefit eligible position.
