Role Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and enthusiastic Data Annotation Specialist to join our dynamic team. You will play a critical role in building the foundation of our AI and machine learning models. You will be responsible for labelling and annotating large datasets with high accuracy, ensuring the quality and integrity of the data that powers our innovative solutions. Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to understand project requirements and annotation guidelines.
• Accurately label and annotate named entities in diverse text datasets
• Ensure consistency, accuracy and quality of annotations through meticulous attention to detail.
• Identify and resolve ambiguities in data and provide feedback to improve annotation processes.
• Assist in the development and refinement of annotation guidelines and best practices.
• Participate in regular quality assurance checks to validate output from machine learning models.
• Stay updated on the latest annotation tools and techniques to enhance productivity and accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Experience in data annotation or a related field.
• Familiarity with annotation tools such as Labelbox, Amazon SageMaker Ground Truth, or similar platforms.
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and the importance of high-quality data.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to project guidelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle ambiguous data points.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment where adaptability and initiative are key.
• Experience with different types of data (text, image, audio, video) and various annotation tasks (classification, segmentation, transcription, etc.).
• Knowledge of ontologies
• Familiarity with Python or other programming languages for data manipulation and basic scripting.
• Previous experience working in an AI/ML startup or technology-driven environment.

The base compensation range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 plus yearly variable compensation, based on KPIs and performance. Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
