Last week, we had the pleasure of attending #ReactAlicante, a truly inspirational tech event! It was a fantastic experience where the team had the opportunity to learn through thought-provoking talks, share their knowledge, and, most importantly, exchange ideas with brilliant software development professionals. 👩💻 👨💻 We loved connecting with such a passionate community and sharing Qustodio's commitment to innovation and collaboration in the tech sector. Big thanks to the organizers, Limenius, for the excellent coordination! #ReactAlicante #Qustodio #TechCommunity #SoftwareDevelopment #Innovation #Networking

On September 17th, Instagram announced its plan to introduce mandatory teen accounts, with the aim of protecting all users under the age of 18 - both for those already using the app and new signups. Amid heavy discourse surrounding social media's effect on young people and teens, this sudden change is welcome, but will it be enough? At Qustodio, we are concerned about the gaps that children could continue to fall through, and the false sense of security this change could give to parents. Our Qoria MD, Tim Levy, explores and explains the fundamental issues this new step does not address, and what is needed to safeguard children as they explore the digital world. https://lnkd.in/etFaMkRG #socialmedia #meta #instagram #onlinesafety #childsafety

Are smartphones failing our children? How young is too young for social media? Our latest report investigates tech use in a fast-paced world, where AI, social media, and digital tools evolve at light speed: where concerned parents, lawmakers, and governments are coming together in an attempt to slow it down. We explored children's app use in two major markets: Australia and the US, two countries where discussion surrounding children's technology use and potential misuse has gripped both the public and policymakers over the past year. As Yasmin London, Global Online Safety Expert for Qoria states: "For parents, educators, and school leaders, these insights are essential to understanding how young people engage with digital platforms and where the risks lie." Some key findings: - 36% of 7-9 year olds are already accessing X (formerly Twitter). - Despite age restrictions, 39% of 10-12 year olds use TikTok, spending over 2 hours on the app on average - daily. - Apps that potentially expose children to pornography, graphic content, and hate speech, such as Reddit, are already among the top 10 apps for under 13s. Head to the comments for a link to the full reports for Australia and the US, or scroll the carousel below for fascinating insights into how Australia's younger generations are growing online, along with expert tips and advice to help keep them safe in a connected world. #onlinesafety #socialmedia #techtrends #report

Creativity? ✔️ Innovation? ✔️ Teamwork? ✔️ Fun all round? ✔️ We recently celebrated another edition of the Qustodio annual Hackathon. It's a two-day event where everyone in the company is invited to pitch new ideas, work with other teams, and bring out their creative side. It's collaborative, inventive, and brings forward new ideas that can later grow into real-life Qustodio initiatives for the future. Congratulations to everyone involved for making 2024's edition yet another success! #hackathon #teamwork #teambuilding

🛜 The youngest generations have been brought into a world of constant connectivity. They know no other way - born digital, born connected. Whether scrolling #TikTok, playing #Roblox, or doing their homework, children’s tightening relationship with technology often concerns parents and educators. Let’s talk about AI too. Our research showed that 1 in 5 children have already experimented with #AI - and with artificial intelligence tools expected to grow by almost 40% per year over the next 6 years, they will only become a bigger part of children’s home and school life. How do kids feel about all this? As part of our latest report, Born connected: The rise of the AI generation, we spoke to teens and tweens worldwide to hear what they had to say about their digital life and AI.
