Today is Juneteenth! In 2021, Juneteenth was established as a federal holiday. Observation of Juneteenth recognizes how far the nation has come, but also how much further we need to go. Today, Juneteenth celebrates African American resilience, resistance, and liberation. About us
Endeavor Health Services provides holistic, innovative, and evidence based treatment for those struggling with emotional concerns, life struggles, mental health issues, and addiction. We also offer a wealth of educational and support services in our community. We know that people struggling with mental illness can, and do, recover when provided with the right treatment and support. Endeavor is a public service, not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the development and maintenance of a comprehensive system of accessible and effective services dedicated towards improving the emotional wellness and behavioral health of residents of Western New York. Following incorporation on December 23, 1972 as Mid-Erie Mental Health Services, Inc., a community Board of Directors was selected and convened. In April of 1973, the first Executive Director, Dr. Albert Zavala and twelve staff began the initial service delivery. Endeavor has since been served by the following Executive Directors: Dr. George Dietz (1977-1986), Michael Venezia (1986-1999), Sarlyn Tate (1999 to 2006), Elizabeth Mauro (2006 to present). Endeavor Health Services staff are Rock Stars! Amanda Bartz served as a Moderator, and Rebekka Lipp, and Amanda Zwirecki were Workshop Presenters at the National Council for Mental Wellbeing’s Annual Conference in St. Louis, Missouri today. Their topic was Rapid Access to Buprenorphine in a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). The opiate epidemic is a major crisis in NY and rapid access to Buprenorphine is crucial in saving lives. Buprenorphine prevents overdose, and our focus at Endeavor is to provide immediate access to this medication, which can lead individuals towards recovery.
