Whether you identify as LGBTQIA+ or you’re an ally, OhioHealth and our PRIDE Business Resource Group (BRG) are proud to provide a place where associates and patients are welcomed for who they are. This BRG aspires to ensure OhioHealth is the partner of choice and promotes a safe environment for the LGBTQIA+ community and our allies to work, receive inclusive care, and help us all achieve our best health. The peripheral vascular team at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital continues to be known as a world leader in the care and treatment of complex vascular disease. Cardiologists Michael Jolly, MD, Christopher Huff, MD, and Justin Morrison, MD, presented two live cases on May 29 to a major European vascular conference called LINC (Leipzig Interventional Course). Christopher Metzger, MD, moderated from Germany. Showcasing the team’s expertise and emerging technologies, they performed a pulmonary thrombectomy (a minimally invasive surgery to remove a large, life-threatening blood clot from the lungs) and a carotid stent procedure. #OhioHealthLeads #LINC2024

Over the weekend, OhioHealth volunteers provided hundreds of free health screenings at the Asian Festival in Columbus. To reach the underserved Asian community, this has become one of the largest and most comprehensive annual screening events in the state. Available for all ages, the evaluations include everything from skin cancer checks to stroke risk assessments. Thank you to our providers and associates for helping forward health equity in central Ohio. #OhioHealthForAll #AAPI

This spring, OhioHealth partnered with Zappos at Work to treat our associates to new shoes. 👟 It’s just one way to say thanks for the exceptional care and service our teams provide to the community. An impressive 30,500+ employees, or 97% of our eligible workforce, took advantage of the program. With fresh kicks, associates are continuing to make every step count – both on and off the clock! #IAmOhioHealth

May is Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. OhioHealth’s Asian Business Resource Group (BRG) recently held its signature event to celebrate diversity within the organization. Attendees shared stories, engaged in important conversations around Asian identity, and how OhioHealth can help further empower this community of associates. Guest speaker Hope Yanling Yin also discussed her professional journey, breaking barriers within her field, and her unique AAPI perspective. #AAPI I #OhioHealthForAll

Once an associate reaches their 20th anniversary at OhioHealth (and every 5 years after that!), we celebrate them with a legacy experience known as “Shopping Trip.” This year’s event was held at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium – and despite a little rain, 1,900+ associates and their guests strutted down the red carpet to enjoy an evening of wild animal encounters, live music, food, shopping and so much more! This is just one of many ways we cultivate a culture of appreciation and recognition. These individuals have dedicated their careers to helping improve the health of our communities; and we are grateful. Please join us in congratulating the honorees! #IAmOhioHealth #BelieveInWe
